Wellingborough Town Council approached AT Creative with a tight two month target to complete their app, and meet a deadline set by the Welcome Back Fund. Working closely with the council we agreed the functionality and set them the task of preparing the content whilst we focussed on development of the Places & Trails app. We had the beta (test) version of the app ready within the first month. After on site testing and a few tweaks the app was launched comfortably before the deadline, and in time for a pre-scheduled event.
New navigation
The Wellingborough Town Trails app is the first to feature AT Creative’s bottom tab navigation. This simplified approach – where an app has five navigation items or less – provides easy access to the key features of the app, which includes a 32 point trail around Wellingborough.
The walking tour reveals some of the influences from past eras and the architecture that has been left behind. Places of interest are triggered by GPS (with on screen and audible notifications) as app users explore the trail, with map pins turning green (with a tick) once they have been visited.
