A student-friendly research tool that allows safe access to information about Portrush.
This exciting educational resource allows primary-aged children to explore, experience and celebrate Portrush in Northern Ireland like never before! Featuring 10 adventures that mix virtual, classroom and field-based learning opportunities that are aligned to the Northern Ireland World Around Us (WAU) Curriculum.
In order to engage all learners, information is disseminated through audio, visual, written, pictorial and sensory means. This resource offers every local child the opportunity to nurture and develop a connection to their home through exploration of the wonders, natural and man-made, in our wonderful town.
The app encourages users to ‘check-in’ to each location to reveal the activity. On full completion of each adventure a Souvenir Selfie is unlocked to allow you to take a themed photograph of the class as evidence of learning. All adventures begin with a child-friendly video that explores the locations and main points of learning, plus an ‘aerial adventure’ of drone footage of the entire route, which can be used in the classroom as a pre-tour or to point out specific landmarks etc.
